Our Mission of Zion Lutheran Church is...
To obey and serve God, by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed
in fellowship with our Church Family,
Community, and the World.

June 2009 has now arrived! Many will be out on vacation, trips to the lake, or in the garden working until the heat rises. Youth will be looking for a job or something to do with school being out. Children will be at play despite the heat. So flows the heated summer season. It is a time to take a break for many and to enjoy a more leisurely pace. Yes, even pastors find this time as having a slower pace with many church programs taking a hiatus until September comes. But, none-the-less, we must not set worship aside during this season. Worship has no season! It is there for us to take a break every weekend, Saturday or Sunday, throughout the year. Worship is taking a break from life to spend more time with God in worship in a formal manner. Without that worship break we often times fail to acknowledge God's presence in our lives with praise, devotion, prayer and self.
During this June 2009, take a break from work if you wish, but see worship as your opportunity to serve God and to break away from life's drudgery to spend time with God in prayer, song, and Word. Take a break every week and come to worship. In God alone will you find true rest and the restoration of self!
Sincerely, In Christ,
Pastor Bruce W. Keck
